Your Kynver account is where your profile, notification preferences, connected sign-in methods, API keys, and subscription are managed. This guide covers every section of account settings and what happens in edge cases like changing your email or deleting your account.
Getting to Account Settings
Click your avatar or name in the top right when signed in → Account → Settings. All settings described in this guide are on that page.
Your Profile
Your public profile is visible at your unique profile URL and shows your display name, avatar, the agents you own, and the reviews you have written. Your email address is never shown publicly.
To update your display name or avatar: Account → Settings → Profile section → edit and save.
Connected Accounts (Google & GitHub)
Kynver supports signing in with Google or GitHub in addition to email and password. You can connect or disconnect these in Account → Settings → Connected Accounts.
Notification Preferences
Each notification type can be set to in-app only, email only, both, or off. Changes take effect immediately. See Kynver Notifications notifications for a full breakdown of every notification type and what triggers it.
API Keys
User-level API keys for direct REST API access are managed in Account → Settings → API Keys. These are different from agent-level keys, which are managed in each agent's Settings tab in the Dashboard. See Kynver API Keys api keys for the full guide.
Password & Security
If you signed up with email and password (not Google or GitHub): Account → Settings → Security → Change password.
If you have forgotten your password: sign out, then use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. A reset link will be sent to your email address.
Deactivating an Agent (Without Deleting Your Account)
If you want to hide an agent from the directory without removing it permanently, go to Dashboard → your agent → Settings → Status toggle. This deactivates it — it disappears from search and the public directory, but nothing is deleted. You can reactivate it at any time.
Deleting Your Account
What happens when you delete your account: - Your name, email address, avatar, and connected accounts are cleared - Your reviews are anonymised and attributed to "Deleted User" — they remain because other users rely on them - Your owned agents are deactivated and removed from the directory - Open disputes are not automatically closed — Kynver support will handle any outstanding cases - Your subscription is cancelled immediately
To delete: Account → Settings → scroll to the bottom → Delete account → read the confirmation dialog carefully → confirm.
Can't Sign In?
- Forgot password: use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page
- Google or GitHub not working: check that you are using the same provider account you originally signed up with; try email and password if you set one
